Creative/ Research Bio
Amber Lemser has always had a love to create and use her hands to make beautiful artworks. She has a joy of experiencing the art process rather than the finished piece. She is interested in mixed media, and finds the medium to be a key element in the exploration of different art materials when constructing artwork. She also has a love for watercolor, and the unique advantage it has over an artist to work with mistakes. Artist, Richard Stephens, who works in this medium inspire her greatly. She has taught at DeQueen Public schools for six years. Since starting there, she has accomplished many community involvement activities with other art instructors and strives to build a better community by art scholarship programs for students by establishing a school artwork auction within her district, and creating student school art shows for community enrichment. She hopes to create a better learning environment for her students by researching cross curricular art activities in schools with fellow educators. She aims to incorporate art as an important part of people’s life, culture, and heritage, while also incorporating art skills into other core subjects.
